Watch loaner's kin must testify, say activists | Bangkok Post: news

Two political activists Tuesday asked the national anti-graft agency to summon for questioning two daughters of the late businessman who Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon claims lent him the luxury watches at the centre of the recent controversy. Ekkachai Hongkangwal and Chokchai Phaiboonratchata Tuesday handed in a request asking the NACC to summon Jiraphan and Jutiphon Suksriwong, daughters of Pattawat Suksriwong, for questioning over the luxury watch scandal. The activists said that since Pattawat had died, his two daughters should clarify whether the watches in question belonged to their late father as claimed by Gen Prawit. The NACC had not summoned the businessman's daughters, even though they were the key witnesses who could dispel doubts about the matter, the activists said. Gen Prawit said earlier that all the watches were borrowed from his best friend whom he had known since their school days at St Gabriel's College.
